Armand’s 50 Things: Thing 3

Build a Blog From Day One

The most efficient way to do this is to have WordPress installed on my own hosting account underneath my own domain name. This is very key, because all my traffic is going to go to that ultimately as I build it out.

If I didn’t know how to install WordPress, I would post a job up on or and I would say something like, “I need WordPress installed on my website”. You set the price on RentACoder so I would price it at a maximum of $20, because that’s all should cost you. You can probably get someone to do it for $10 if you want to try it.

I would also have a custom theme made. A theme is how WordPress looks. It’s the look and feel of a blog or website. It’s the actual design of WordPress. The reason I would have a custom theme made is because I want my website to look like me. I don’t want to use a free template where I might look like a bunch of other people. I want people to come to my website and know that it’s a very distinct unique look and feel.

If you go to Google and you type in custom WordPress design, you’ll find a bunch of people that will make a custom theme for your WordPress site.

They will integrate your logo, as well. Don’t forget to allow people to subscribe to the newsletter we talked about in number 1.
